The Department of Architecture at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), the country’s leading institution in architectural education and research, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the School of Architecture of Tsinghua University, China-one of the world’s highest-ranking universities and a global leader in architectural education.
This landmark MoU establishes a framework for academic collaboration at the postgraduate level, with a particular focus on Architecture, Heritage, Urban Design, and Landscape Studies in both national and global contexts.
The agreement underscores a commitment to shared academic values and equitable participation between the two institutions.
Key areas of collaboration include: Joint Postgraduate Programs addressing contemporary challenges in architecture and urbanism, Faculty Exchange to promote cross-cultural teaching and research, Student Exchange to enhance learning opportunities and broaden global perspectives, Collaborative Research in architecture, heritage preservation, sustainable urban design, and landscape planning.
Speaking on the occasion, representatives from Architecture Department, BUET emphasized that the partnership would open new avenues for Bangladeshi students and faculty to engage with one of the world’s premier institutions, strengthening Bangladesh’s academic and professional footprint in global architectural discourse.
