The Bangladesh Student Rights Council (BSRC) on Sunday demanded the ban of all activities of the Awami League (AL) and its allied political organisations within the next 24 hours.
They made this announcement at a press conference held at the Madhur Canteen of Dhaka University.
Additionally, the organisation has announced a long march towards the secretariat if their demands are not met.
BSRC President Bin Yamin Molla, said, “Fascist elements have taken seats in the administration, and the government is being run by them. Whether the Awami League can continue to engage in politics will be decided by the families of the injured and deceased.”
The council presented four key demands during the press conference, including calls to ban the Awami League, the Jatiya Party, and their allied parties. They also demanded the formation of a national government involving parties that supported the July public uprising.
To press for their demands, the organisation has planned protests on February 6 across all university campuses, metropolitan areas, districts, and upazilas, with a sit-in scheduled for February 10.
