BSF returns three Bangladeshi national through flag meeting in Thakurgaon

The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has returned three Bangladeshi nationals detained at the border through a flag meeting. They were returned through a flag meeting between Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) and BSF at the Bairchuna border at Pirganj upazila of Thakurgaon district on the Bangladesh-India border on Monday (June 9) morning. The BGB handed them over to Pirganj police station in the afternoon. The detainees are Swadesh Chandra (25), son of Sajeeb Chandra of Chapai village in Birol upazila of Dinajpur district, Dilip Chandra Roy (35), son of deceased Kandura of the same village, and Durjoy Chandra Chandra (20), son of Babul Chandra of Khat Shibpur village.
Abu Bakkar Siddique, company commander of BGB’s Bairchuna camp, said that the detainees had been staying in India for some day. On Monday morning, they tried to illegally enter Bangladesh when BSF members from India’s Bamar camp detained them. Later, a flag meeting was held between BGB and BSF at Pillar No. 342 area of the Bairchuna border around 9:30 am. Through the flag meeting, BSF handed over the three Bangladeshi national to BGB.
Pirganj Police Station OC Tajul Islam said that BGB has filed a case against the three Bangladeshi nationals at the police station for illegally crossing the border.
