Through the Kaya border of Panchbibi Upazila of Joypurhat
Indian Border Security Force (BSF) members have sent back five members of the same family on charges of illegally entering India. The Bangladeshi nationals were handed over to the BGB at Pillar 271/54 area of the Kaya border on Wednesday afternoon.
The people who returned to the country are Murad Morol (30), son of Paran Morol of Dakshin Tutpara village in Khulna Sadar upazila, Murad’s wife Sagarika Begum (25), Murad’s two sons Ramzan Morol (08) and Md. Muskan Morol (05) and daughter Md. Amena Morol (02).
Lieutenant Colonel Md. Arifur Daula of Joypurhat Battalion (20 BGB) said that on the night of August 12, the BSF arrested the five people about 800 yards from border pillar 282/43-S in Balupara area of India, opposite Kaya BOP of Joypurhat Battalion (20 BGB). During initial interrogation, they said that in 2020, they had gone to work as daily wage laborers at a scrap metal shop in Ennakulam, Kerala state, India. The BSF recently arrested them on their way back home.
Panchbibi Police Station Officer-in-Charge OC Md. Mainul Islam said that the BGB has handed over five children, a man and a woman, to the police station. During interrogation, they said that the BSF detained them and handed them over to the BGB when they were returning home after receiving treatment in India. They will be handed over to their families after completing the legal process.
