During the tumultuous 1954 elections, Manik Mia’s pen proved mightier than the sword. His eloquent and impassioned articles rallied the masses, contributing significantly to the defeat of the Muslim League. In the 1954 provincial elections, the United Front, a coalition of political parties including the Awami League, won a significant victory over the ruling Muslim League. Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, a prominent leader of the Awami League, was appointed as the Minister of Agriculture and Forests in the United Front government led by Chief Minister A. K. Fazlul Huq.
