LGRD and Cooperatives Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan announced on Monday that the Bangladesh Rural Development Board (BRDB) will be restructured into a directorate to enhance its ability to improve the living standards of rural communities on a larger scale.
LGRD and Cooperatives Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan said on Monday that the Bangladesh Rural Development Board (BRDB) will be converted into a directorate to work more effectively on a large scale to improve the living standards of rural people.
The adviser was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the two-day Deputy Director Conference-2025, organised by the Bangladesh Rural Development Board in Dhaka on Monday.
He also said one of the main objectives of the July mass uprising is political, economic, and social emancipation of all including the rural and marginalised population of Bangladesh.
Measures will be taken to strengthen BRDB and transform it into a directorate, he added.
The adviser said more dynamism should be brought into the official activities of BRDB. He instructed the officials to fill the vacant posts and promote eligible candidates.
Adviser Asif instructed BRDB officials to make the rural people self-reliant through providing credit assistance and more training.
He also urged all officers and employees to work together to implement the “Three-Zero Theory” of the chief adviser and eliminate rural poverty.
