Brainlab, a Germany-based health technology firm, on Monday launched their advanced medical technology solutions in Bangladesh with a view to enhancing surgical decision making and facilitating a personalized and comprehensive experience for the patients. The launching ceremony was held at a city hotel in Dhaka. Vinicius Dessoy Maciel, President of the Brainlab In the event, Brainlab offers Loop-X®?, a new mobile imaging robot. This new imaging technology will help surgeons provide advanced care while improving surgery for patients, creating a new benchmark in automation and robotics. Surgeons can use this cutting-edge technology for a variety of surgical procedures like Spine, Trauma and Brain procedures. Digital spine surgery using Loop-X®? helps patients and their doctors in many ways. The technology works in sync with other devices in the O.R., moving with the procedure and on the surgeon’s command, enhancing the surgical experience for surgeons, staff and most importantly, patients, according to the organizers. The system’s advanced design enables flexible patient positioning and facilitates imaging in a way that reduces the amount of radiation exposure and increases the variety of clinical indications which can be treated. Loop-X provides surgical confidence that surgeons achieve with the desired outcomes such as correctly aligned and placed spinal implants. The system can be moved from O.R. to O.R. so that it can always be directly in the room with the patient, they added. This capability helps with precision and accuracy and to help decrease the need for re-operation. Surgery can be streamlined and risks of infection decreased as patients do not need to be moved to be scanned with Loop-X—the device robotically aligns to the most critical patient anatomy, they said. Vinicius Dessoy Maciel, President of the Brainlab, presented Curve, the latest image guided surgery technology for intraoperative visualization and guidance.
Using Curve®? Navigation by Brainlab, surgeons leverage sophisticated software and O.R. integration to gain critical insights for the precision treatment of Brain, Spine, ENT and Cranio-Maxillofacial patients, detecting and removing tumors and addressing other central nervous system disorders. Brainlab also introduced advanced technological capabilities of Cirq®?, a new robotic arm.
