Selim RF Hussain has resigned from his position as the managing director (MD) and chief executive officer (CEO) of BRAC Bank PLC.
He submitted his resignation letter, effective on Tuseday, to the Board of Directors yesterday morning.
The Board of Directors has accepted Selim’s resignation and sought Bangladesh Bank’s approval in this regard.
According to sources, some internal conflict has led to Selim’s resignation. BRAC Bank’s Board of Directors has appointed Tareq Refat Ullah Khan, additional MD and head of Corporate and Institutional Banking, as the bank’s MD and CEO (current charge). In an email sent to his colleagues this morning, Selim wrote, “All good things must come to an end and such is the same for my time at BRAC Bank PLC. I have tendered my resignation to the Chairman & Board of Directors.
