After two-day recess, the Dutch-Bangla Bank Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Cricket resumes today at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. Sylhet Strikers will take on Rangpur Riders in the day’s first match, which will begin at 1:30pm while, Fortune Barishal will face Durbar Rajshahi in the day’s second match, which will start at 6:30pm. Private satellite sports channel T Sports and private satellite channel GTV will telecast the match live.
Rangpur Riders led the points table gaining maximum six points from three matches, while Khulna Tigers took the second position bagging four points from two matches. Chittagong Kings, Fortune Barishal and Durbar Rajshahi earned two points each from their respective two, two and three matches. But by virtue of better run rate, Chittagong Kings took the third position, Fortune Barishal took the fourth position and Durbar Rajshahi took the fifth spot.
On the other hand, Dhaka Capitals and Sylhet Strikers failed to open their account playing their respective three matches and one match.
Anamul Haque Bijoy of Durbar Rajshani is the highest scorer with 146 runs with two half-centuries after playing three matches, Usman Khan, who is a Pakistani recruit of Chittagong Kings is the second highest scorer with 141 runs hitting just one century in two matches. Dhaka Capital’s Sri Lanka recruit Thisara Perera aso scored 141 runs with one century after playing three matches. Yasir Ali of Durbar Rajshani scored 132 runs playing three matches and Saif Hasan of Rangpur Riders scored 106 runs playing three matches.
Taskin Ahmed of Durbar Rajshahi captured 12 wickets plating three matches. Besides, he created history in BPL Cricket capturing seven wickets in a match. Khushdil Shah, who is a Pakistani recruit of Rangpur Riders claimed seven wickets. Nahid Rana of Rangpur Riders and Abu Hider of Khulna Tigers bagged six wickets each.
