Deputy Director of Gazipur sub-regional centre of Bangladesh Open University Mohammad Saiful Islam died of cancer at his residence at Duttapara in Tongi area on Monday. He was 46.
He left behind wife, a son, a daughter and a number of well-wishers to mourn for him.
Siaful Islam began his career at Finnance and Accounting Department of the university.
His namaz-e-janaza was held on BOU Gazipur campus.
Later, he was buried at his family graveyard in Fulpur upazila of Mymensingh district on Monday.
Vice-Chancellor of Bangladesh Open University Professor Dr ABM Obaidul Islam expressed profound shock at the demise of Saiful Islam.
