Art & Culture Report :Noted local and Indian maestros of classical music created an ambiance of jubilation with their musical brilliance at a programme titled Boishakh-e Sur Lohori (Notes and Tunes in Boishakh) held at the Music and Dance Centre Auditorium of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) in the city’s Segunbagicha area recently. Music Alliance World Wide (MAWW), in association with BSA, organised the programme to showcase the local talented classical exponents to a wider audience. Liaquat Ali Lucky, Director General of BSA and Olivier Litvine, Director of the Alliance Francaise de Dhaka, were present at the show respectively as chief and special guests. A number of classical exponents from across the country played different instruments in the opening half of the programme. Led by a short introduction by Mehjabeen Rahman, President and founder of MAWW, Jamalpur-based artiste Kabir Ali performed on the stage. Following him, Shantanu performed a raga on harmonium accompanied by Pintu Sen Das on tabla and Satyajit Chakraborty presented a captivating recital on sitar, accompanied by Sabuj Ahmed on tabla. While all these performances could keep the audience riveted, flautist Murtaja Kabir Murad led the audience to a stupor.
