After 44 days of death in Rangpur, the body of vegetable seller Sajjad Hossain, who was killed in the quota movement, was exhumed on the orders of the court.
On Monday afternoon, the body was removed from the city’s Mistripara cemetery and sent to Rangpur Medical College Hospital morgue for post-mortem examination. At that time, district administration executive magistrate ATM Arif, investigating officer of the case Metropolitan Kotyali police station SI Khalid Uddin, police, army members and family members of the deceased Sajjad were present.
During the anti-quota movement on July 19, Sajjad, a vegetable trader, was shot dead by the police in the city market area of Rangpur city during the protest of students. On hearing the news, the relatives and local residents and agitating student crowd recovered the body and took it to the bus building in Purb Shalban Shikkangan area of Rangpur city.
