Kurigram Sadar thana police recovered a floating unidentified dead body from a canal at Jagajog crossing of Amin Bazar under Belgacha union in Sadar upazila in the morning on Thursday (June 27).
Locals found the floating body in a canal near Kurigram-Chilmari (KC) road and informed to the police. The Police however recovered the dead body and took away to police station.
Local sources said bad smell was spreading from the body beside it. Chairman of Belgacha union council Md. Liton said hearing the news I rushed to the spot but its identity could not be known. The body was decomposed.
