Bodies of 4 missing schoolboys found in Habiganj

The bodies of four schoolboys who had gone missing from Sundrateki village in Bahubal upazila on Friday morning were recovered from a ditch at the village on Wednesday morning. Informed by locals, police recovered the bodies of Zakaria Ahmed Shuvo, 8, son of Wahid Mia, his two cousins –Tajel Mia, 10, son of Abdul Aziz, Monir Mia, 7, son of Abdal Mia — and Ismail Hossain, 10, son of Abdul Quadir, from the ditch around 11:30 am, said officer-in-charge of Bahubal Police Station Mosharraf Hossain. Earlier, Shuvo, Tajel, Monir and Ismail went missing while playing in a filed on Friday afternoon. Later on Tuesday, Shuvo’s father Wahid Mia filed a general dairy with Bahubal Police Station in this connection. Police sent the bodies to sadar hospital morgue for autopsy. A pal of gloom descended on the village following the recovery of the four bodies. Meanwhile, Mizanur Rahman, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Sylhet range, visited the spot in the afternoon and announced a bounty of Tk one lakh for information that may lead to the arrest of culprits involved in the killings. — Habiganj, Feb 17 (UNB)
