Film actress Eamin Haque Bobby has been in talks with the director about the movie ‘Mayurakshi’ for a few days.
In the meantime, this actress is again in the headlines after being accused in the case of theft and attempted murder. Md Shakib Uddoza filed the case at Gulshan Police Station on June 23. Bobby filed a counter-suit against the complainants.
Bobby organised a press conference at a restaurant in the capital’s Moghabazar area on Monday to clarify everything.
There she said that she and her partner Mirza Bashar were cheated while doing restaurant business.
In a written speech at the press conference, Bobby said, “I and my former acquaintance Mirza Bashar bought a restaurant named ‘Bhubon’ in Gulshan from him in a contract of Tk55 lakh. At that time the owner of the building Shahana Yasmin and her son encouraged me to rent.
I paid Tk15 lakh to Aman to take over it.
The previous owner Aman, building owner Shahana Yasmin, her son Zawad, building in-charge Joy Sakib and other officials of the building started harassing us when we wanted trade license of the restaurant, contract letter, and fire safety certificate with various documents from them. Aman denied such Tk15 lakh and turned off the restaurant’s power line.”
“I went to the City Corporation and found out that there is no commercial activity allowed in this building. We learn that after Bailey Road incident, this restaurant was sealed off after the fire. We understood that they have cheated us,” she also said.
“Not being able to save the illegal restaurant, they are getting a trap to withdraw money by selling it. Last on June 23, when the employees of the restaurant went there, they were barred from entering.
On hearing the news, when my operation partner Bashar went there, a patrol from 15 to 20 persons attacked him. Later, when I went to the restaurant with the police, I saw that there was a new lock.
All the furniture inside the restaurant were vandalised and looted. In such a situation, I was advised to get Bashar treated first when going to file a case at Gulshan police station,” Bobby added.
Lastly, the actress also said, “After going to the police station in the evening, I got to know that they have filed a case against us. I have also been accused there. But at that time I was not present there.
The investigation of the case is ongoing; I hope I will get the right justice. They thought that since I am a film actress, there is no reason to protest about these things.
I can be polite but I am not the person to keep my mouth shut when wronged.”
