The 46th founding anniversary of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) was celebrated with various arrangements in Muktagacha, Mymensingh. On Thursday (January 2) afternoon, the chief guest, Mymensingh South District BNP convener AlhajZakir Hossain Bablu, inaugurated the founding anniversary program by hoisting the party and national flags in front of the police station at the Dak Bungalow ground. In his speech as the chief guest, he said that the time has come to bring democracy back from exile.
Only if we can ensure the rule of law, freedom of expression, press and judiciary, the sacrifices of the martyrs in the democratic movement spanning a century and a half will be worthwhile.Let us pledge on the founding anniversary to build Bangladesh as a stable and peaceful country free from all evils including oppression and torture, protecting civil rights.
May the abominable horrors like disappearances, assassinations, extrajudicial killings, demonization of women and children, terrorism, extortion, corruption, and money laundering never be repeated across the country. The main goal of BNP is now to alleviate the suffering of the people by realizing their rights and to protect the independence and sovereignty of the country and re-establish the trend of multi-party democracy. Md. Rokonuzzaman Sarkar, Member Secretary, Mymensingh South District BNP was present.
The special guests were Md. Habibur Rahman Khan Ratan, Convener, MuktagachaUpazila BNP, Md. KamruzzamanLebu, Joint Convener, MuktagachaUpazila BNP, Md. Shahidul Islam, President, Muktagacha Municipality BNP, Md. Murshiduzzaman Khan Saiful, Secretary, Muktagacha Municipality BNP. ManjurulHaqueArif, Convener, MuktagachaUpazila BNP, presided over the meeting.Later, a huge rally started from Dak Bangla ground and circled various roads of the city.
