BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced on Friday that the party will take strict organizational and legal action against any member involved in anarchic activities and misconduct.
In a statement, the BNP leader urged citizens to remain vigilant against the schemes of the deposed dictator, who he claims is attempting to create instability across the country by targeting minorities and looting their properties.
“We have received reliable information that the deposed dictator and her associates have systematically initiated a plan for revenge against the interim government and the victorious students and masses,” the statement read.
It also noted that social media is being widely used to falsely blame these heinous crimes on all democratic political forces, including the BNP.
“A certain segment is using social media platforms, particularly some news channels from a neighboring country, to spread rumors that the wealth and religious shrines of Hindu, Buddhist, and Christian communities have been specifically targeted,” it continued.
Their aim is to divide society and incite communal riots. They are also attempting to create divisions among the victorious forces and the general population, Alamgir added.
“We hope the ruling interim government, administration, and all citizens are aware of this. Our party, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), is already taking all possible steps. Strict organizational and legal action will be taken against those who engage in such malpractices using the BNP’s name,” the statement asserted.
The statement further warned of the depth of the situation and environment, calling on all related domestic and foreign supporting forces, including the public, to be aware of this conspiracy by the fallen dictatorship and its henchmen. It made a special appeal to citizens of minority communities.
The BNP leader called for social awareness and resistance against this conspiracy from every place. “For the purpose of building a democratic Bangladesh, I urge the people of the country to stand united, regardless of party affiliation, and fully support the interim government, patriotic defense, administration, police, BGB, and Ansar forces,” the statement concluded.
