Former lawmaker and BNP Chairperson’s Advisor Advocate Fazlur Rahman has said that if the election is held at this time, the BNP will get 90 percent of the parliament seats. He said that if the elected government’s term is five years, the interim government’s term should be three months.
Advocate Fazlur Rahman made these remarks at a public meeting organized by BNP in Itna upazila on Tuesday evening on Itna Government College playground to celebrate the 54th Victory Festival.
The Supreme Court lawyer also said, “Those who do not believe in the Liberation War, they do not believe in the country’s independence.
Our leader, martyred President Ziaur Rahman, is the proclaimer of the Liberation War. Those who believe in Ziaur Rahman as the proclaimer of independence cannot insult the freedom fighters.”
He said, “Abu Saeed was shot in the chest during the student movement and the bullet exited through his back, but he did not run. At first, I said that Abu Saeed is the greatest hero of the 21st century.”
It was addressed, among others, by District BNP General Secretary Mazharul Islam, Vice President Umme Kulsum Rekha, Public Prosecutor (PP) Advocate Mohammad Jalal Uddin, Khaled Saifullah Sohel, Hajee Israil Miah. Upazila BNP President SM Kamal Hossain in the chair the meeting.
Before the meeting, the BNP honored 72 brave freedom fighters from three upazilas of Itna, Mithamoin, and Ashtagram with flowers and crests.
