As part of the campaign to promote BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman’s 31-point plan for repairing the state structure, Professor Mamun Mahmud Member of the BNP National Executive Committee and Convener of the Narayanganj District BNP — inaugurated a day- long free medical camp at Sonargaon Kazi Fazlul Haque Women’s College. The camp, launched under his personal initiative on Thursday (October 23), featured 11 specialist doctors who provided free medical services to local residents. The camp also distributed free medicines, and offered tests for dengue, diabetes, blood grouping, and eye checkups, along with free eyeglasses. Before inaugurating the event, Professor Mamun Mahmud said: “Healthcare is a basic human right something the state is supposed to ensure. But over the past fifteen years, mismanagement and corruption have completely destroyed the healthcare system.”
He added: “Our leader Tarique Rahman has pledged in his 31-point plan to ensure ‘Health for All’ and ‘Universal Healthcare’ for every citizen of Bangladesh. He envisions introducing a system modeled after the modern healthcare structure of the United Kingdom. If you vote for BNP in the upcoming national election and give us the opportunity to serve you, we will make this a reality.” Professor Mahmud further stated: “Following Tarique Rahman’s direction, I’ve personally arranged this medical service for the people of this area. This is not a one-time event I will continue organizing such healthcare initiatives in every union of Sonargaon. Stay with us, and we will stand by you. Together, we will build a better, more compassionate society.” Among those present at the event were Professor Dr. Md. Mojibur Rahman (neonatology specialist), Dr. Aminul Haque (burn and plastic
surgery specialist), Assistant Professor Dr. Md. Farhad Hasan Chowdhury (kidney specialist, Mugda Medical College & Hospital), Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Omar Faruq (diabetes and hormone specialist, Mugda Medical College & Hospital), Associate Professor Dr. Jahangir Alam (Mugda Medical College & Hospital), and Nazrul Islam Babul, former Office Secretary of Narayanganj District BNP.
