BNP Standing Committee Member Salahuddin Ahmed said on Sunday that his party is sincerely cooperating with the reform initiatives undertaken by the interim government.
“We are engaging with transparency, sincerity, and seriousness in all matters,” he stated ahead of the second day of talks between the BNP and the National Consensus Commission, held at the LD Hall of the Jatiya Sangsad Complex.
The BNP’s five-member delegation, led by Standing Committee Member Nazrul Islam Khan, participated in the talks that began at 11:00am. National Consensus Commission Vice-Chairman Prof Ali Riaz presided over the session.
Other members of the BNP delegation included Ismail Jabiullah (Chairperson’s Advisory Council), former secretary Abu Mohammad Moniruzzaman, and Barrister Ruhul Kuddus Kajol, former General Secretary of the Supreme Court Bar Association.
The BNP also took part in the opening round of discussions last Thursday, which ran from 10:35am to 4:45pm.
Launched on March 20, the National Consensus Commission’s dialogue aims to forge a unified stance on key reform proposals introduced by the interim government. So far, it has engaged with 13 political parties.
