BNP Sapahar upazila council gets new president, secy

The biennial council election of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) for the Sapahar upazila branch in Naogaon was held on Saturday with great enthusiasm and excitement.
The voting began at 10:00 AM on the Model Government Primary School grounds in the upazila town, where the process was carried out through secret ballots. Voting continued uninterrupted until 3:00 PM in the afternoon.
After the votes were counted, Rofiqul Islam Chowdhury (Benu) of the Benu panel was elected President with 168 votes, securing the umbrella symbol. His nearest competitor, Mokhlesur Rahman (Mukul) from the Mukul panel, received 150 votes with the chair symbol.
In the race for General Secretary, Sarwar Zahan Chowdhury (Labu) from the Mukul panel emerged victorious with 161 votes, securing the “Am” (mango) symbol. His opponent, Abdur Rahim from the Benu panel, garnered 158 votes with the horse symbol.
Shafiqul Islam and Abdullah Ansari from the Benu panel won the Organizational Secretary positions.
The entire election process was overseen by central BNP leader Nazmul Haque (Soni), Naogaon District BNP convener Abubakar Siddique Nannu, joint convener Mamunur Rahman Ripon, secretary Baijid Hossain Palash, election committee convener Masud Hasan Tuhin, and prominent leaders from Saphahar Upazila BNP, including Rezaul Karim and Badiuzzaman (Bodi).
