A press conference has been held in Muktagacha, Mymensingh, to protest the false propaganda of a group against the leaders of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party BNP. Upazila BNP convener Habibur Rahman Khan Ratan, Municipal BNP president and former municipal mayor Md. Shahidul Islam Shahid delivered written statements at the press conference organized under the banner of BNP and all its affiliated organizations at Muktagacha Press Club on Saturday, April 12, 2025. In the speech, the leaders said that on April 10, RAB arrested Krishak League leader Majnu Khan.
In view of this, the news was published in the Daily Jugantor newspaper on April 11 under the headline ‘BNP leaders manage to roam around Muktagacha, Awami League donor Majnu arrested in Muktagachha’. There, false information was presented by fictionally implicating Upazila BNP convener Habibur Rahman Khan Ratan and Municipal BNP president Md. Shahidul Islam Shahid. Later, Jugantor’sMuktagacha representative intentionally spread various propaganda on his Facebook wall implicating BNP leaders. Among others present at the press conference were Upazila BNP joint convener AKM Jahangir Hasan, Jugmu convener Matiur Rahman Khokon, Municipal BNP organizing secretary Habibur Rahman Habi, UpazilaKrishak Dal convener Mokhlesur Rahman, BNP leader KaziAbulHasim, District Jubo Dal joint general secretary Nur-e HasanuzzamanSohag, joint organizing secretary SirajulHaque, UpazilaChhatra Dal convener ManjurulHaqueArif, etc.
