BNP leader killed in Kishoreganj clash

A BNP leader was killed and at least 50 others were injured in a clashes during an Eid-e-Miladunnabi (PBUH) procession at Kuliarchar upazila in Kishoreganj on Monday noon.

The incident occurred around noon on Monday at Chaysooti bus stand area in kuliarchar upazila.
The victim’s was identified as Mir Arif Milon (50) ,also kuliarchar upazila BNP leader and Son of Jubaier Mir at Chayasooti village of kuliarchar.

Locals and police saids that the followers of Ahle Sunnat Wal -Jamaat brought out a procession near Chaysooti bus stand in observation of the Eid -ul- Miladunnabi , when some participants threw bricks towards members of Alem-Ulama Council, who were gathered at a nearby mosque.

In response, the Council members retaliated by throwing bricks at the procession, leading to a violent clash between the two groups. Milon died on the spot and 50 others sustained injuries in the clash.
The injured persons were admitted to Kuliarchar government hospital and Jahurul Islam Medical College Hospital (JIMCH).
