In the upcoming 13th national parliamentary election, BNP and Jamaat candidates are busy campaigning in Sunamganj 1 constituency.
In this constituency, 7 BNP candidates and 1 Jamaat-e-Islami candidate from other parties are working day and night.

As a result, the election wind is blowing in the constituency. In the rural areas of the haor region. Among the 5 constituencies in the district, Sunamganj 1 constituency is the most important.

The political party’s program is run from the district headquarters. In this, Sunamganj 1 constituency is very important for everyone. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami announced its sole candidate in this constituency in advance,
Sunamganj District Jamaat Ameer, Tofail Ahmed Khan.

He is already continuing his campaigning in the field in the election fight.
Sunamganj 1-(Dharmapasha, Madhyanagar, Jamalganj and Tahirpur) constituency received the BNP party nomination Former president of Tahirpur Upazila BNP, former vice-president of Sunamganj District BNP, organising secretary of Bangladesh Nationalist Farmers’ Party Central Executive Council (Sylhet Division), currently convener of Sunamganj District Farmers’ Party and one of the current members of the Sunamganj District BNP’s current convener committee, soil and people leader Anisul Haque.

Moreover, although he was promoted as a BNP nominee on television in 2008, he was dropped after some time and former MP Late Nazir Hossain was nominated and promoted. Since then, he has been closely involved in BNP politics.

Moreover, according to party sources, he has been providing many financial donations to the poor for the purpose of public service. And since 2010, he started election mass communication and road meetings.

He is frequently holding street rallies and telling the people that everyone should unite in the next election and vote for the paddy sheaf symbol, calling on BNP to bring the state to power.

Another strong public leader in this seat is the leader of youth and people, former district BNP organizing secretary, current convening committee member, former chairman of Tahirpur Upazila Parishad Kamruzzaman Kamrul. He has gained immense popularity as a talented political leader who emerged from a student leader for a long time.

And he is a tested leader of the district BNP in difficult times. He is in wide discussion as a BNP nomination aspirant in the 13th National Parliament election.

Moreover, Mahbubur Rahman is also active in the campaign. In the past, he has served as a soldier of Shaheed Zia’s ideology and a dedicated worker of BNP, former joint convener of Sunamganj District Chhatra Dal, former honorary member of Central Chhatra Dal and former associate organizing secretary (Sylhet Division) of Central Jubo Dal.

He has become known as an icon of the youth’s creativity in the digital age. A symbol of the youth’s trust and pride, a people-friendly young leader with a clean image, Mahbubur Rahman has played an immense role in the field of politics as a tested soldier of the ideology of martyred President Ziaur Rahman during the difficult times of BNP.

Amidst this, a new face heavyweight candidate, a young clean image student leader, Central Student Party Vice President and former Liberation War Affairs Deputy Secretary Nizam Uddin, has emerged as an icon of youth-driven politics that is changing the state structure.

Another veteran and savior of BNP, former vice president of Jail BNP and former chairman of Dharmapasha Upazila Parishad, leader of BNP during its difficult times and a prisoner, Abdul Motalib Khan, has entered the field to campaign. And is already starting mass communication and public meetings in the constituency.

Salma Nazir, wife of former MP late Nazir Hossain, is campaigning by holding showdown road meetings in the constituency and is lobbying centrally with a strong hand. She is contacting and inquiring with Nazir’s followers spread across the area to keep the voters in her grip.

In addition, Barrister Hamidul Haque Afendi, General Secretary of the UK Lawyers Forum, former Joint General Secretary of the UK BNP, former member of the Sunamganj District BNP Advisory Board, former president of Sunamganj Government College Chhatra Dal and former president of Jamalganj Upazila Chhatra Dal, is also in the field.

Various programs are being held across the constituency with the BNP’s primary nominated candidate till the time of writing this report.

Various groupings have been created within the party demanding a change of candidate.

Taking advantage of this dilemma of the BNP, the Jamaat candidate is in the field at a fast pace.Voters believe that if this trend continues, BNP can easily be defeated in this constituency.

The number of voters in this constituency is 462,695, of which 227,711 are women, 234,889 are men, and there are 5 Hijra votes.
