Sylhet Bureau :
BNP National Standing Committee Member Salahuddin Ahmed said that the great independence proclaimer, martyred President Ziaur Rahman, abolished the country’s dictatorial constitution Baksal in the second National Parliament in 1989 and established a multi-party democratic constitution. He established unwavering faith and trust in Allah Almighty by including Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim in the constitution. He ensured equal rights for people of all religions in the country. By establishing equal rights for everyone on the basis of religion in the constitution, he ensured the freedom of religious practice for all people. He wanted to ensure that there would be no division in this country on the basis of religion, caste, language and nation, everyone is Bangladeshi. At the moment of rebuilding the country, he was martyred at the hands of evil-minded circles. But he remained alive in the hearts of every person in the country. BNP is the party of the people. If BNP exists, the country will have independence and sovereignty, if BNP is weak, Bangladesh will be weak. If BNP was not born, multi-party democracy would not have been introduced in the country, if BNP was not well-organized, parliamentary democracy would not have been established in the country, and the caretaker government system would not have been introduced. Therefore, BNP is the guardian of the country’s independence and sovereignty.
