BNP candidate holds rally

Workers and supporters of BNP National Executive Committee member Faisal Alim held a huge mass procession carrying ‘review placards’ and sheaves of rice, demanding a change in the primary nomination of the BNP candidate for Joypurhat-1 constituency.

On Wednesday afternoon, the procession started from the city’s Chinikol Road and circled the city’s main road before ending at the same place.

During this, the protesters raised various slogans demanding a change in the nomination, holding ‘Review Placards’ reading ‘We want change, Joypurhat-1 seat’ and holding sheaves of rice in their hands.

At that time, the protesters claimed that Jamaat leaders have expressed excitement over the nomination of District BNP Senior Joint Convener Masud Rana Pradhan in Joypurhat-1 constituency.

Because Jamaat thinks that this BNP candidate will not be able to win the election.

Jamaat thinks that Jamaat will win this constituency due to such nomination by BNP. That is why we want change in this constituency and a leader who has public support should be nominated.

It is learned that more than half a dozen candidates were seeking BNP nomination in Joypurhat-1 constituency.

Among them, BNP National Executive Committee member Faisal Alim and District BNP Senior Joint Convener Masud Rana Pradhan were leading the race to get the nomination.

Masud Rana Pradhan got the party nomination. Thousands of Faisal Alim’s supporters carried out this program to demand the cancellation of this nomination.
