Mohammad Shafiqul Islam on his first working day after taking charge as Commissioner of Barishal Metropolitan Police (BMP) held a views exchange meeting with local journalists and vowed to start everything a new and fresh to develop image of police.
The programme was held at the conference room of BMP headquarters on Monday.
Shafiqul Islam, BMP Commissioner at the beginning of his speech in the meeting, paid humble respect to the martyrs of the anti-discrimination movement of the students on August 5 and sought forgiveness for their departed souls. The newly appointed police commissioner thanked the people of Barishal saying that no weapon was looted in Barishal and no attack was made on the police station.
The police commissioner said that not only drugdealers, carriers, but all those associated with drug selling will be brought under the law.
