West Bengal Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Leader Suvendu Adhikari has criticised the Bangladesh government for the arrest of Spokesperson for Sanatan Jagaran Jote Chinmoy Krishna Das, and warned of border blockades if he is not released.
Opposition Leader of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly Adhikari demanded Chinmoy Krishna Das’s unconditional release and warned of protests at the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata if he is not freed, reports The Indian Express (Bangla section) on Tuesday.
He said, “We will not allow services from India to pass through West Bengal into Bangladesh.”
The Indian Ministry of External Affairs also expressed ‘deep concern’ over the arrest and denial of bail to Chinmoy Krishna Das.
On Monday, Chinmoy Krishna Das was arrested from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport area while en route to his residence in Chittagong. On Tuesday, a Chittagong court denied his bail petition and sent him to jail.
