Agency :BJP headquarters at 11 Asoka Road is in the middle of heady celebration, hundreds of flashing cameras and OB vans, flowing tea and other goodies, and several victory laps, as the trends point towards a clear win.The road is fully barricaded, with no access to traffic, and security is quite what is extended to a Prime Minister, a policeman at the venue told Business Standard. Hundreds of cops are along the road and inside the HQ, leaving nothing to chance even though Narendra Modi, the PM candidate of BJP was not in Delhi yesterday. While other leaders such as Rajnath Singh and Ravi Shankar Prasad are expected to come here in a while to address the media, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi is the only prominent party person seen here in the morning. Naqvi, who had commented its dabba gol for Congress after the exit poll, yesterday said, “the peoples mandate has been for development and against corruption.”The adjacent 9 Asoka Road, which is BJP leader Arun Jaitley’s house, is a party ground too with facilities for the media and also the place where thousands of ghee filled laddoos, significantly of saffron colour, are being prepared and dished out since last night. Several containers of ingredients for ice creams, kesar pista variety, were also being transported to that building a little while ago. A person carrying a container said 1000 icecreams will be made. Its a different matter that Jaitley, in whose house these festivities are going on, is trailing behind Captain Amarinder. Singh of Congress in Amaritsar. The sprawling ground at the BJP house is a scene of celebration too where at least 3000 volunteers are dancing with gay abandon while a large screen is streaming Modis promises amid the BJP signature tune ‘acche din aane waale hai’ in the highest decibel possible, making it impossible to hear one another in the premises. In fact celebration is announced in no uncertain terms all across the stretch outside the bjp office. Already 500 cups of tea have been served since morning. Jea band is in full swing too, with around 50 people. Mohammed zahanat, a band member, said he has not seen anything like this before. But he has prior Modi link. His band had performed at the Delhi airport when Modi had been elected chief minister of Gujarat last time.A journalist from a Bangladesh news organisation, Jesmin Papri, was congratulating Indian counterparts for accurate predictions in the opinion and exit polls. Her organisation Bangla News 24 is represneted by more than 30 reporters in India covering elections. In all, around 36 countries have sent out their journalists to India, which is at the centre of the world’s spotlight right now.
