A new committee of Bhola Samity, Dhaka, was recently formed at a vibrant and well-attended meeting of Bhola residents living in the capital.
The event was held at the Conference Auditorium of the Institute of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) Dhaka Centre, with Engineer Helal Uddin Talukder, Chairman of IEB Dhaka Centre, in the chair.
The meeting brought together a wide spectrum of Bhola natives now residing in Dhaka, including industrialists, businessmen, senior police officials, lawyers, academics, journalists, youth leaders, and representatives from Chhatra Dal and volunteer groups.
The occasion marked by a strong spirit of unity and shared identity, eventually turned into a festive reunion of Bhola’s community in Dhaka.
Following enthusiastic discussions, Engineer Helal Uddin Talukder was unanimously selected as the convener of the new committee, while Golam Masud Khan Lablu was appointed as the member secretary.
The announcement was received with widespread approval and applause from attendees, reflecting confidence in their leadership.
The meeting also approved the formation of an Advisory Council comprising prominent personalities from Bhola with significant political and social influence. Among them are former minister and BNP Standing Committee member Major (Retd) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed Bir Bikram, former MP and BNP Central Executive Committee member Nazim Uddin Alam, and other BNP central leaders including Hafiz Ibrahim, Md. Aminul Haque, Saiful Islam Nirb, and Haider Ali Lelin.
This newly formed committee and advisory council are expected to play an active role in strengthening the bond among Bhola residents in Dhaka and in advancing various social, cultural, and welfare initiatives.
