Apu Ghosh is a successful entrepreneur in Bhangura Upazila of Pabna.
He is the son of Paritosh Kumar Ghosh of Charbhangura village of the upazila. Apu is a final year student of Pabna Textile Engineering College. Along with education, with the intention of becoming an entrepreneur, he received training at the Directorate of Animal Resources. Then he started the business of dairy industry. For this he was given a cream separator machine free of charge from the Animal Resources and Dairy Development Project.
Apu Ghosh now collects 600 liters of milk every day and is producing and marketing dairy products like ghee and curd through that machine. He has an online YouTube channel called ‘The Gosh Gee ‘. Its products are now known to be very popular in the online market.
Apu said, two and a half to three kg of cream and 8 kg of curds are available in forty kg milk. Only one and a half kg of ghee is obtained by warming in stove this cream. A kg of ghee is sold at 1200 taka. About 40/50 thousand taka can be earned per month by selling curd and ghee. But since doing business with NGO loans, about 30,000 taka monthly installments have to be paid. For this, he expressed his desire to build a large industry if he got a bank loan at a low interest rate.
Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Rumana Akhter Romi said, Bhangura Veterinary Hospital and livestock Department has given entrepreneur training, cream separator machine and necessary support to Apu Ghosh. As a result, now he progressed towards fulfilling his dream of becoming a small to big entrepreneur in the production of dairy products.
