Bhangura school runs with few teachers

A school of 600 students is running with half the number of teachers in Bhanguraupazila of Pabna. The school is located in BhanguraUpazilaSadar, named Saratnagar Government Primary School.

According to Upazila Education Office sources, the number of students studying in this school from pre-primary to fifth grade is 570. But there are only 11 posts including head teacher.

One of them has retired. As per the Primary Education Policy, one teacher is required to be posted for 33 students. Accordingly, a total of 18 teachers were supposed to be employed in this school. But its application was not seen here.

As a result, teachers have to work extra hard in teaching. Besides, when the head teacher is away on government work or an assistant teacher goes on leave, it becomes difficult to conduct all the classes. Headmistress Habiba Khandoker said authorities have been informed to resolve the issues.
