Baralbridge is an important railway station in Bhangura upazila of Pabna on the Isharadi-Dhaka railway route. At least four inter-city trains stop here. Trains on this route have been stopped due to recent violence in the country. Passengers who had earlier purchased train tickets from Baralbridge station or online could not reach their destinations. They even couldn’t refund the tickets as the railway apps were closed. As a result, they are disappointed.
Md. Mahmud Ali and Md. Hossain Ali of Saratnagar Bazar of the upazila said that at least 1000 customers including themselves had collected tickets online to go to Dhaka, but it was not possible to return ticket as the train was stopped. They also said that they are not able to do the online process to get the money back as the Rail Sahaj.com apps are closed.
Abdul Aziz, operator of Sahaj.com working at Baralbridge railway station, said that 218 passengers who had collected tickets from this station have returned the tickets. However, the refund could not be given as there was no cash in the cash. Besides, it is not possible to submit for refund online as the apps are not working. Apart from this, he said that he thought that 7/8 hundred such customers who collect tickets on mobile have online tickets.
Shafiul Alam Munsi, booking assistant of the station, said that a notice on the Sahaj.com app last Monday night informed that the customers can get the ticket money back by submitting an online refund application within ten days of the start of the train traffic.
