The construction work of the long awaited Bhangura-Naogaon road in Bhangura Upazila of Pabna has finally started. In the first phase, a five and a half kilometer road will be paved from Naubaria to Parmanandpur in the upazila, LGED officials said. A contracting firm called Barendra Limited is doing the work.
It is reported that with the efforts of the Prime Minister’s promise and local MP Mokbul Hossain, in 2018, LGED completed the earthwork and bridge construction on this road with a length of 16 kilometers through the chalonbil. Later the top of the road up to Chandipur of Khanmarich Union of the upazila was herringboned. Over the past few years, the road has become impassable due to heavy traffic.
Upazila Engineer Afroza Parveen said that now 5 and ahalf kilometers of roads are being carpeted. Five crore taka have been allotted for this purpose. The remaining roads will be paved in the next project.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer deleted. Nazmun Nahar said, Bhangura Upazila Parishad election will be held on May 21. Therefore, before this, one side of the road has been instructed to make it suitable for traffic.
