A 15-year-old girl was gang-raped by her facebook friends at Bhairab town in Kishoreganj on Thursday night. Police have arrested eight people in this connection. The incident took place on Thursday night around 7:30 pm in the area adjacent to the railway twin bridge on the banks of the Meghna River.
The accused are Palash Das (18) son of Monindra Das of Pirijkandi village in Raipura upazila of Narsingdi, Rabbi (19) son of Sentu Mia of the same area, Nirjan alias Aryan (17) son of Sumon Mia of Busstand area of Bhairab town, Sun son of Sujan Mia of Bhairabpur Dakshin Para area of the city. (17), Abdullah (18) son of Angur Mia of the same area, Papon (18) son of Habibur Rahman of Kamalpur area of Bhairab town, Hasan (17) son of Milon Mia of Chandiber area of Bhairab and Fuad (19) son of Anas Mia of the same area.
Two of them raped the girl. Police said that the remaining six cooperated with them. In this incident, the lover’s father became the plaintiff and filed a case at Bhairab Model Police Station. The accused were sent to Kishoreganj court on Friday. The girl has been sent to Kishoreganj 250Hospital for medical examination.
According to police, Palash met the victim on Facebook. Later a love relationship developed between them. On Thursday, they first came to a restaurant near a bridge in Manikdi area of Bhairav. Later in the afternoon, Bhairav went for a walk on the banks of Meghna River. As the evening approached, Palash Das raped the girl in a forest on the bank of the river.
Some robbers staying in the area saw the incident. They arrested the two and took money and money along with two mobile phones. Later one of them raped a young woman. At that time, people gathered around the girl’s screams. After receiving the information, the police came and arrested eight people including the young woman and took them to the police station.
