In November 2025, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered contraband items valued at more than Tk 168.38 crore during coordinated nationwide operations.
Confiscated goods included gold, silver, clothing, cosmetics, firecrackers, timber, agricultural products, vehicles, and mobile phones.
Weapons such as pistols, grenades, ammunition, and explosives were also seized.
In addition, BGB intercepted a large quantity of drugs, including over 2 million yaba tablets, heroin, phensedyl, cannabis, and illicit alcohol, says a press release.
Authorities arrested 159 smugglers and others involved in illegal border crossings, taking legal action against them. Furthermore, 403 Myanmar nationals attempting illegal entry were repatriated.
