The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) today handed over financial aid of Tk 10 lakh to the family of Abu Sayed, martyr of July-August Anti-Discrimination Movement.
BGB Rangpur Region Headquarters Director (Operation) Lt Col Faruk Hossain Khan said BGB’s Phulbari Battalion (29 BGB) Assistant Director Md. Mahbubur Rahman Khan handed over a cheque of the amount to the family members of Shaheed Abu Sayeed on Tuesday.
The money was given from the Shaheed Abu Sayeed Foundation in line with the promise made by the Home Affairs Adviser.
The Home Adviser visited the house of martyr Abu Sayeed on December 2, 2024 at Bamanpur village in Pirganj upazila of Rangpur district and promised to give his family financial aid, said a press release this evening.
The adviser also offered doa at the grave of Shaheed Abu Sayed.
Sayeed sustained critical injuries in police firing during the student-people movement and later died.
