To strengthen the security ring and improve public safety, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has been deployed across the capital. Since Monday night, BGB personnel have set up checkposts at various locations throughout Dhaka.
Colonel Mohammad Nazrul Islam, Commander of BGB’s Dhaka Sector, confirmed the deployment, stating that they are committed to ensuring the safety of the capital just like they do at the border. He mentioned, “We are conducting searches of suspicious individuals and vehicles.
Through these efforts, we expect to improve law and order in our areas of responsibility.”
In addition to BGB, police forces are also on the ground. Dhaka Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Tarek Zubayer emphasized the importance of joint operations to prevent any potential unrest in the city.
He stated, “By working alongside other forces, we aim to bring the country’s law and order situation to a proper level. We are hopeful that we can control crimes like theft, robbery, and snatching.”
On the ground, checkposts have been set up on major roads and patrols are ongoing in residential areas to prevent any disruptive activities. Foot patrols are particularly active in densely populated areas.
Authorities have indicated that their efforts to safeguard citizens’ lives and property will intensify, with a shared commitment to improving the capital’s law and order situation swiftly. They remain hopeful that the collective action will lead to rapid improvements in Dhaka’s security environment.
