Leaders of Bangladesh Federal Union of Newspaper Press Workers (BFUNPW) on Saturday demanded forming the 10th wage board immediately for journalists and newspaper employees and workers.
They also urged the owners of the newspapers to implement the 9th wage board award and pay the dues of journalists and sought government’s intervention to realize the dues, said a release.
They made the demand while addressing a meeting on the occasion of handing over charges to newly elected BFUNPW committee for 2024-2026 at Dilkusha office here.
BFUNPW president Md Alamgir Hossain presided over the meeting while its secretary general Moshtaq Ahmed conducted it.
BFUNPW senior vice president Md Maksudul Ahsan, vice presidents Md Ataur Rahman, Md Tazammel Haque, Md Abul Kalam, and Md Belel Uddin, joint secretary general Md Abdul Aziz, organizing secretary Md Jahidur Rahman, office secretary Omar Fruque, publicity secretary Md Abdul Awal, sports secretary Md Mansur Ali, treasurer Md Mominul Haque and members Md Jahangir Hossain, Kaiser Ahmed, Md Anisur Rahman and Md Nasir Uddin were present.
