The Bangladesh Federation of Film Societies (BFFS) has announced the official call
for submissions of eligible Bangladeshi films for the International Feature Film
category of the 98th Academy Awards (Oscars), organised by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), USA. The Oscar Bangladesh Committee, chaired by Dr Mohammad Zahirul Islam, will review the entries and select
the film that will represent Bangladesh on the global stage.
According to the eligibility criteria, films must be predominantly in Bengali with English subtitles, produced in Bangladesh with significant creative control from Bangladeshi filmmakers, and screened in a commercial cinema hall for at least seven consecutive days between October 1, 2024, and September 30, 2025. Submissions must also comply with all technical and eligibility requirements set by AMPAS.
Producers and rights holders have been asked to submit the completed application form, proof of release date and exhibition run, two DVD/Blu-ray screeners or a secured digital link, and a press kit with synopsis and key credits.
The deadline for submission is September 16, 2025, at 5:00pm.
