The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) will host the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Under-20 Women’s Championship from February 11 to February 19.
It is noteworthy that Bangladesh Women’s Football team emerged the champions in the SAFF Women’s Championship defeating Nepal Women’s Football team 2-1 in the final at Dasharath Rangasala Stadium in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal, on October 30 this year.
Earlier, the BFF staged the SAFF Under-17 Women’s Championship and SAFF Under-20 Women’s Championship at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Shipahi Mostafa Kamal Stadium in the capital recently. But as that outfield of that stadium synthetic turf, so the BFF was criticized by the other teams of the officials and the players.
General Secretary of SAFF Anwarul Haq Helal said, ” We have issued letter to BFF. If the BFF can prepare other venue before the tournament, the competition will be held at that venue.” The host of the SAFF Under-19 Men’s Championship was also finalised on Wednesday.
India will arrange that tournament from November 5 to November 15. SAFF has submitted letter to All India Football Federation (AIFA). AIFA will decide the tournament will be held in which province.
The SAFF Men’s Championship will be held next year. The host of the competition has not yet finalized.
Helal said, ” We shall talk to the marketing companies for the sponsorship. The meeting will be held next month to discuss the matter.”
