The Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) has approved a new investment by Chinese-owned AeroSynth Limited to establish a drone manufacturing facility at the BEPZA Economic Zone (BEPZA EZ) in Mirsharai, Chattogram.

This marks the second drone manufacturing project at the zone.
AeroSynth will invest US$3.5 million to produce a range of drones – including toy drones, fishing drones, and lightweight delivery drones – with an annual target of 1.5 lakh units. The project is expected to create jobs for 70 Bangladeshi workers.

The lease agreement was signed on 5 November 2025 at the BEPZA Complex in Dhaka by Md Ashraful Kabir, Member (Investment Promotion), BEPZA, and Hu Dandan, authorised representative of AeroSynth Limited. BEPZA Executive Chairman Major General Mohammad Moazzem Hossain, ndc, afwc, psc, G, MPhil, witnessed the signing.

Major General Hossain welcomed the investment, noting that the project reflects growing confidence in BEPZA as a destination for high-tech manufacturing. He reaffirmed BEPZA’s commitment to providing full support to ensure smooth operations.

As of September 2025, six companies in the BEPZA Economic Zone have begun production and export, creating around 4,000 jobs and exporting goods worth nearly US$19.92 million. More industries are preparing to start production soon, further diversifying the zone’s industrial base.
