Jasim Uddin, the cashier of former inspector general of police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed and former upazila chairman of Chandanaish in Chattogram, was arrested by police on Wednesday afternoon from the Le Méridien Hotel in Dhaka.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Khilkhet Police Station Muhammad Azharul Islam confirmed the matter to the media.
He said, “Jasim Uddin was arrested in connection with a case at Badda Police Station, and further legal actions are currently being processed.”
