Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Md Mainul Hasan has urged members of police to work with sincere devotion to regain public trust.
“Every member of police force has to perform duties properly to regain the trust of people through works,” he said while addressing a welfare meeting at Shaheed SI Shahjahan Auditorium at Mirpur Public Order Management (POM) unit as the chief guest, reports BSS.
Pointing out the situation when he took charge as DMP commissioner, Mainul said, “Crisis between police and public was ensued due to unprofessional activities of some members. It is certainly a great loss for the police force.”
However, he said, “We are working round the clock to restore peoples’ confidence. I believe, with the collective efforts of all we can reach a place where police will be a symbol of public trust.”
The commissioner also said that police is one of the most important institutions of the state, as they maintain internal peace and law and order of the state.
“Stable law and order situation is a precondition for business and overall development of a country,” he said.
