BD women finish 3rd in U-18 Asia Cup Hockey

Bangladesh Under-18 Women’s Hockey team finished third in the Under-18 Women’s Asia Cup Hockey Tournament defeating Kazakhstan Under-18 Women’s Hockey team by 6-2 goals in a place-deciding match at Dazhou city in China on Sunday.
Bangladesh Under-18 Women’s Hockey team for the first time took part in the Under-18 Women’s Asia Cup Hockey Tournament and achieved an outstanding result.
Kazakhstan scored the first goal in the match.
Airin Riya of Bangladesh hit a hat-trick.
Rimon Sharika of Bangladesh increased the tally into 4-1.
Kona of Bangladesh made it 5-1 and Ninisen Rakhain increased the tally into 6-1. Kazakhstan pulled off one as the match ended 6-2 goals.

was adjudged the Player of the Match.
Bangladesh Women’s team reached the ‘Super Four’ stage of the Women’s U-18 Asia Cup Hockey. They beat Pool-A runners up Uzbekistan 4-0 and also Hong Kong by same margin. The red-and-green out-fit suffered a massive 0-11 goals defeat to Japan in the opener.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Under-18 Men’s Hockey team became fourth in the Under-18 Men’s Asia Cup Hockey Tournament as they lost to Malaysia Under-18 Men’s
Hockey by 5-2 goals in a place-deciding match at Dazhou city in China on the same day.
Bangladesh drew 2-2 with Malaysia in third quarter.
After that Malaysia scored more three goals in the last quarter.
Earlier, Bangladesh Men’s Hockey team finished Pool-A runners up to qualify for the semi-finals securing nine points from four matches with three wins and one defeat. They beat hosts China by 5-2 goals, defeated Hong Kong, China 3-0, thrash Sri Lanka 13-0 and suffered a 3-6 goals defeat to Pakistan.
