BD women blank Bahrain in Asia Cup Qualifiers

Bangladesh Women’s Football team blanked Bahrain Women’s Football team by seven goals to nil in their first match of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup Qualifiers at Yangon, the capital city of Myanmar on Sunday.

According to the latest FIFA rankings, Bangladesh Women’s Football team have taken the 128th position, while Bahrain have taken the 92nd spot.

But the Bangladesh women showed a better brand football and took the upper hand against their stronger opponents. Bangladesh led the first half 5-0.

Shamsunnahar Jr put her team ahead after got the Bahrain goalie alone and she found net by a spectacular shot in the ninth minute of the play.

Tohura Khatun scored her first goal by an eye-catching right-footer in the first minute of the injury time of the first-half.

After the lemon-break, A Bahrain defender tried to clear an effort of Bangladesh but it went into the goalbar (6-0) in the 60th minute of the clash.

Munki Akter advanced with the ball and entered the Bahrain danger zone then she dribbled past a Bahrain defender and found the net by a spectacular shot in the 74th minute of the game.

Bangladesh will take Myanmar in their second match at the same venue on July 2.
