Bangladesh Under-20 Women’s Football team made an auspicious start in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) defeating hosts Laos Under-20 Women’s Football team by three goals to one in their opening Group-H match at New Laos National Stadium in Laos on Wednesday.

Sagorika scored two goals and her teammate Munki Akter netted one, while Onsy of Laos pulled off one.

Bangladesh led the first half 1-0.
Sagorika put her team ahead in the 36th minute by a header using a corner kick from her teammate Shanti Mardi.

After the lemon break, Munki Akter made it 2-0 using a through pass of her teammate Trishna Rani. After getting the ball from Trishna Rani, Munki Akter dodged past a defender and then doubled the margin by a placing shot in the 56th minute of the game.

Onsy of Laos reduced the margin in the 87th minute of the clash.
Sagorika sealed the fate of the match after getting the ball on his way from her teammate Trishna Rani in the first minute of the injury time of the second half.

In the 15th minute, Trishna Rani failed to utilize an easy opportunity as she got the ball at the opponents small D-box from a short pass of her teammate Munki Akter but Trishna Rani failed to put the ball into the blank net.

Sagorika’s header bounced back from the crosspiece which he found from a accurate cross of her teammate Sapna Rani in the 72nd minute of the game.

Bangladesh will take on Timor-Leste in their second Group-H at the same venue on August 8.
It may be mentioned that Laos, South Korea, Timor-Leste and Bangladesh are in Group-H.
