BD-Windies Select XI match ends in draw

The two-day warm-up match between Bangladesh Cricket team and West Indies Select XI ended in a draw on the second day at Antigua in West Indies on Monday.

Promising left-arm spinner Hasan Murad bagged a hat-trick in the rain-interrupted second day play.

Bangladesh declared their first innings after piling up 253 for the loss of seven wickets on the opening day (Sunday).

In reply, West Indies Select XI scored 87 for the loss of nine wickets in their first innings before the bails were drawn for the second and final day.

West Indies resumed their first innings with the over-night score of five for the loss of one wicket.
Kimani Melius and Joshua Dorne resumed their first innings with the over-night score of three and two runs respectively.

Dorne could add more five runs on the last day as he was dismissed by pacer Taskin Ahmed when the hosts’ score was 23 for the loss of two wickets.

Right-arm pacer Hasan Mahmud struck as Jordan Johnson (6) was bowled out by the pacer when the home side’s total was 36 for the loss of three wickets

Taskin Ahmed dismissed Kimani Melius (27) when the Islanders’ score was 38 for the loss of four wickets.
Left-arm pacer Shoriful Islam trapped leg before wicket Tevin Imlach when West Indies’ total was 45 for the loss of five wickets.

Fourth-down Justin Greaves and fifth-down Daniel Beckford fought back adding together 42 runs for the sixth wicket partnership before Justin Greaves (19) was trapped leg before wicket by Mehidy Hasan Miraz when the hosts’ score was 87 for the loss of six wickets.

Then, Hasan Murad trapped leg before wicket Daniel Beckford (19) in the 27.2 overs when West Indies’ score was 87 for the loss of seven wickets.

Hasan Murad bowled out Navian Bidaisee (0) in the 27.3 overs when the hosts’ score was 87 for the loss of eight wickets.

Hasan Murad fulfilled his hat-trick after trapping leg before wicket Chaim Holder in the 27.4 overs when West Indies’ total was 87 for the loss of nine wickets.

Hasan Murad captured three wickets in the space of just one run, while Hasan Mahmud and Taskin Ahmed bagged two wickets each instead of 15 and 21 runs respectively.
Miraz and Shoriful Islam took one wicket apiece.
