Bangladesh Under-19 Women’s Cricket team edged past England Under-19 Women’s Cricket team by two runs in the ‘ Super Over’ of their T20 warm-up match at Kualu Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia on Wednesday.
Electing to bat first, England women piled up a fighting total of 113 for the loss of nine wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
In reply, Bangladesh women scored 113 off 20 overs.
As the both team’s scored same score in the stipulated 20 overs, thus, the fate of the match was decided in the ‘Super Over’. Sadia Akter of Bangladesh scored eight runs playing three deliveries and the Junior Tigresses made 11 runs in the ‘Super Over’.
Habiba Pinky of Bangladesh bowled the ‘Super Over’. England scored nine runs. Thus, Bangladesh won the match by two runs.
Prisha Thanawala of England top-scored with 28 runs. She hit one four and one six in her 24-ball innings.
Besides, Tilly Corteen, Amu Surenkumer, Davina Perrin, Katie Jones added 23, 16, 15 and 14 runs to the England total.
Anisa Akter of Bangladesh captured three wickets in the space of 12 runs, while Fahomida Choya bagged a pair of wickets at the cost 20 runs.
Habiba Pinky and Fariya Akter took one wicket each for 11 and 17 runs respectively.
Sadia Akter of Bangladesh hit 20 runs using 16 deliveries including one six and one four, while Juairiya Ferdous also made 20 runs playing 17 deliveries with two sixes.
Sadia Islam made 16 runs from 20 deliveries, while Fahomida Choya scored 13 runs playing 31 balls.
Afia Ashima hit 12 from 10 deliveries with one four, while Habiba Pinky remained unbeaten with 10 runs playing seven balls hitting one six.
Phoebe Brett of England claimed three wickets instead of 32 runs, while Davina Perrin picked up two wickets giving six runs.
Charlotte Lambert took one wicket conceding 23 runs.
