On Sunday, Bangladesh girls won the third match at the Cox’s Bazar Stadium. The hosts defeated the visitors by 7 wickets with controlled bowling.
Pakistan U-19 women’s team defeated Bangladesh U-19 women’s team in the first match of the five-match T20 series.
However, the Tigresses equalised the margin in the next match.
With yesterday’s victory, the Junior Tigresses took a 2-1 lead in the series. After winning the toss, Pakistan elected to bat first and quickly lost wickets. They lost wickets at regular intervals. Pakistan, who were struggling, lost 3 wickets for just 24 runs and 5 wickets for 31 runs, scored 86 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. For the team, Iman Nasir scored 23 and Memuna Khalid scored 19 runs. Habiba and Atashi took 2 wickets each with the ball for Bangladesh.
Chasing a modest target of 87 runs, Bangladesh did not start well.
The hosts were under pressure after losing two openers out of their 8 runs. Later, Jannat Imanta and Sadia Islam formed a partnership for the third wicket. Sadia returned with 35 runs off 28 balls, but Imanta remained unbeaten on 30 runs off 25 balls to ensure the team’s victory. In the end, Bangladesh left the field with a big win of 7 wickets with 39 balls in hand.
